Cheyenne Mountain

Colorado Springs has this really intimate zoo right at the base of a mountain. The zoo goes straight up - gaining 120 feet of elevation by the time you get to the top exhibit. But what makes it great is that it's not very big, not very expensive and most of the animals are up close and in your face. We were able to walk the entire zoo in about 3 hours. No stroller or having to lift any kids. Definitely ideal.
Can you appreciate how close those Giraffes are? Yikes! One almost got his sticky tongue on my hair without me noticing!
