Carter found this guy in the basement of all places. Poor guy was in tears because he was so huge and we weren't close to enough for him to tell us about it -- Carter that is, not the snake.

After examining a few pictures on the the good ol' internet we found out he was a Bullsnake. But it was still hissing and striking pretty fiercely. Luckily our neighbor's dealt with a few in the past, so we were able to act on some experienced advice.

Don't worry. You can still come and visit... he's been safely relocated to the back field -- AKA: far far from our house.

That is a huge snake! Aren't bull snakes the snake you want to have in your yard (not your house) because they eat the poisonous snakes? I get the chills just looking at that thing.

Jenny, You are one smart cookie! Bullsnakes do eat the rattlers around here. That's one reason we took him to the back field instead of the grave. But i don't necessarily want him in my yard.. we don't live on the right side of the street to warrant have a bullsnake in the backyard. We just took him to the openspace field down the way a bit.

Holy cow! Now there is no room for my kids to complain when they see a spider in our basement. :0) Hey-do you have any news about your future?
