Trend

I don't have a picture documenting this, but during our thanksgiving dinner this past year i really noticed Avry's love for food. She was sitting on my lap while i was enjoying my Thanksgiving feast of turkey, yams, mashed potatoes and various squash and veggies. I wasn't really paying much attention to her, just occasionally giving her bits and pieces off my fork. Suddenly, i look down to discover all my yams and veggies missing! (i hadn't eaten a single one up to that point.) I guess she was done with bland baby food - from then on we feed her table food only. She was only 9 months old. Then...

yesterday, i was on my Snapfish account ordering pictures for the scrapbook i had to laugh at a trend i discovered: we (trev and his camera) are obsessed with documenting Avry while she's eating. Some deep thinking followed this odd revelation. What i finally concluded was that we never had the opportunity of seeing a kid enjoy food the way Avry does, first hand i mean. Sure we've babysat kids, but to have it in our house was/is apparently fascinating. Carter has never felt the need for food. It has always been forced with him. Crying fits, bribery, time outs, and force feedings were, and still are, the norm. But Avry has this joy associated with eating that's hilarious to watch. The way she meticulously decides what piece she'll eat first, down to how she wipes her plate clean with her fingers and a little water. It's awesome!

So in honor of Avry's love for food i thought i'd post some of the pictures, starting clear back to her first bite of solids. PS: the camera has a hard time capturing her precise little movements so use your imagination, will ya?

The fact that Avry and I can enjoy Dallin and Preslie's snacks everyday is thrilling! I love that she loves me...and i always reward her for that! She knows who to come to for the goods!

Loved the pictures! I guess Avry must be related to us, huh?
