Karl-the-piano-tuner come out and saw my baby yesterday. He was impressed with her great age. He easily replaced her lost sharp keys and then got to work tuning. About an hour into the project Karl calls me down with some "bad news". The sound board has been cracked. The pegs have no grip. When he turns them for the tuning they slip back into old habits. And he was only able to tune about 2/3 of her notes. The notes he was able to tune, Karl says he doesn't anticipate them holding their pitch for very long seeing as the pegs, once again, have no grip. Sooooo sad. I could replace the board, but he says it wouldn't be worth the money. Sniff sniff. So there it is. My baby is 'untuneable'. She needs to last a bit longer as a new piano is not in the cards for some time. But i wanted to post an obituary of sorts:She was good piano. Served her purpose for many years. But the time has come for her to meet her maker. May she play happy tunes in her next life. She will be missed.

Not really getting rid of the piano... it just isn't functioning up to par.. we've only talked about getting another one.. but that's so far down the road that hitting the old one to the curb really isn't an option.
What if her maker is still alive? what then? Well now Trev knows what to get for your b-day.
