Passing along to Arch Street we take this side street called 2nd Street. These are 2 random buildings that we pass heading towards Betsey Ross's house. I love the blue pillar one. But check out the white one... the occupants' "balconies" face 2nd Street. Can you image the people watching from there?? People rarely look up while walking- they are so focused on not getting run over - that you could watch people almost all times of the day! And the shops down below are really cute.

Arch and Market Streets in Old City
The Historic section of Philly is called Old City. I like it because there's so much more of a mix of Old 16th century buildings with 21st century buildings. Like on our way to Benjamin Franklin's Market Street houses (he used them as rental properties) we pass Fox News Studio. Awesome.

That is so cool. Way to go, taking the kids on the subway and journeying into the city, you are aweswome!
Being so close to so many big "East" tourist spots, I hope you get to visit a lot of them while you are out there.
